MCCA Arts Program

Art Makes a City

Our art galleries have included everything from original pieces done by sculptor, Chris Williams, to the touching Home is Where the Art Is exhibit, featuring more than 100 paintings that now hang in the Yawkey Family Inn, a residence for families with children admitted to Children’s Hospital Boston.

In 2007, the MCCA created the Community Arts Program using shared resources from the Boston Mayor’s Office of Art, Culture and Tourism: Open Studios Coalition. Since its debut, the Community Arts Program has featured work from more than 14 different Greater Boston communities, showcased over 1200 local artists at the BCEC and Hynes, and hosted more than 50 public art receptions at our centers.
