The Lawn On D Powered By Citizens Bank Is Gearing Up For Another Action-Packed Season
Boston, MA – The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA) today announces that The Lawn On D Powered by Citizens Bank will open to the public on May 4, 2017 with new additions and exciting plans for the 2017 season.
Welcoming the Community
2017 promises to be The Lawn On D’s most exciting season yet, with live music, movie nights, monthly Public Programming and more! The season will kick off with a Cinco de Mayo celebration, the weekend of May 4 to 7, followed by our Springtime Spectacular family festival on Saturday, May 13. The Lawn On D’s popular Friday lunch series with Berklee College of Music will return starting May 19 and we are proud to host the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes' Patriot Fest on May 20.
“The MCCA is excited for another great season of fun at The Lawn On D,” said David Gibbons, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. “The Lawn will again feature food and drinks from our friends at Rebel Restaurants, plus a full slate of innovative programming, games, art, and activities to deliver a memorable experience for every guest, every time they visit.”
The Lawn On D’s most iconic feature, Swing Time 3.0, will be back this season and will incorporate a new look with swing colors changing from green to white when in movement. In addition, guests of The Lawn On D will now be able enjoy a full-service bar and an updated menu by Rebel Restaurants.
For guests looking to celebrate a special occasion or get together with a group of friends, another exciting addition to The Lawn On D is eight high-top reservation tables, which will be available starting the second week of May. Details on how to reserve a table will be available on The Lawn On D website prior to the opening weekend.
Citizens Bank will return as The Lawn On D’s title sponsor for the 2017 season and will be launching a new element of the sponsorship called the “Bankers On D” program based out of the Citizens Bank Kiosk. Bankers On D are Citizens Bank colleagues who work as brand ambassadors at The Lawn On D on weekends. The team will help provide an exceptional experience for guests who come to enjoy themselves at The Lawn On D. From the kiosk, the bankers will provide information about the latest events happening at The Lawn On D as well as offer special giveaways. Citizens will also host Friday Community Days and cornhole tournaments on Friday nights starting May 19.
“We are excited to return for a second season and bring our Bankers On D to The Lawn On D as a way to demonstrate our continued commitment to the community,” said Jerry Sargent, President of Citizens Bank, Massachusetts. “Bankers On D will help ensure that the guests visiting The Lawn On D have a great experience.”
Continued Success with Private Events
Last year, The Lawn On D established itself as one of the most popular private and corporate event venues in Boston with almost 90 events booked during the 2016 season. With 40+ events already confirmed for the 2017 season, it looks to be another strong year ahead.
To enhance the client experience when hosting private events at The Lawn On D, a number of new features will be added to the Signature Pavilion, such as more furniture, enhanced lighting, and expanded lawn space. New games like giant chess, lawn checkers, and large Connect Four will also be available during Public Programming and private events.
